Hi, I’m Renato Castro Cruz — an engineer and research assistant currently leading regional analytics and AI applications for a major FMCG corporation in Latin America. My work focuses on building machine learning systems for decision-making at scale, and building agents.

I’m also deeply involved in applied AI research, with experience from the MIT Sloan Sustainable Initiative Greenbridge Lab and Artificial Intelligence Group (IA-PUCP), where I worked on real-time simulation, NLP for public policy, and optimization of energy. My research interests lie at the intersection of AI systems, small reasoning models, computer vision, causal-free machine learning models for operational strategy, fairness in algorithms, and computational social engineering.

I have completed the MIT MicroMasters in Statistics & Data Science, conducted multiple independent research projects, and am preparing several papers for conferences such as ICMV, ISCMI, AIXB and Workshop Poster Presentations at ICML and NeurIPS. I enjoy designing full-stack analytic solutions—from data engineering (BigQuery, Snowflake, Spark) to ML modeling, deployment, and strategic impact.
